Behind the brand

Behind the brand

With over ten years experience in designing handbags and building their hugely successful Antipodean brand Deadly Ponies, Liam Bowden and Steven Boyd have created an internationally-focussed collection recognising the needs of their multifaceted global customer. With the motivation to satisfy the advanced international fashion palette, where an insatiable appetite for elevated newness exists, they created DLYP.

DLYP combines influence and skill from all over the world to deliver the best possible manufacturing traditions under a single brand. Made with artisanal care, the collection has been crafted from the highest quality leather in their purpose built Atelier in mountainous Chiang Mai, Thailand. This is a world-leader in leather good manufacturing and allows DLYP to maintain significant value on the manufacturing processes including production numbers, environmental impacts and working conditions.

DLYP’s commitment to transparency (both social and environmental) is key in the production of our handmade leather goods.

Don’t try and pronounce it - it’s not a word - it’s just letters - but its beautiful...

DLYP is a duplicitously elegant and playful leather accessories brand. With a nod of joy and yet still gracefully functional, these beautiful pieces are both clever in design and considerate to their companion.

A modern use of materials and colours embolden the aesthetic; python, croc and patent leathers in striking hues sit alongside natural, soft-grain hide, illustrating an ability to design compassionately to the fabrication.

“DLYP’s inaugural collection was borne from a place by the ocean. Time spent reaching for creative inspiration from elements around us on an empty, windswept beach. Oyster shells peeking from the sand, umbrella’s fighting in the breeze, picnic hampers bundled with joy. This collection is a few of our favourite things from our favourite place.”

Social Responsibility

At DLYP we understand the responsibility we have to our customers and the environment.

To support our vision for ethical, transparent manufacturing, we have recently opened our own atelier in mountainous Chiang Mai, Thailand. This purpose-built factory allows DLYP to maintain the significant value we place on quality, social and environmental impacts, and working conditions.

Our small, but mighty, facility combines skills from all over the world to deliver the best possible manufacturing traditions under one roof.

We have a completely transparent supply-chain, pay a living wage to all our employees, have targets in place to move our operations to renewable energy, and will be plastic-free by 2021. And we are only just getting started.
